The Eglinton Grand wedding feels like stepping into a classic movie.

Located in midtown Toronto, this historic wedding venue is known for its restored Art Deco theatre, grand ballroom, and vintage charm. Originally opened as a movie theatre in the 1930s, it has been thoughtfully transformed into one of Toronto’s most distinctive wedding venues while preserving its original character.

One of our favourite parts? The venue hosts just one wedding each day, so you have the entire space to yourselves. Guests can enjoy cocktail hour on the mezzanine before the curtain opens to reveal the ballroom—a moment that always leaves an impression.

The Eglinton Grand has spent decades putting on a show. This time, it just happened to be a wedding.

With its historic theatre, soaring ceilings, and Art Deco details, the venue already knows how to capture a room. We kept the décor simple, adding fresh florals and thoughtful details that complemented the space instead of competing with it.

White florals, lush greenery, candlelight, and black accents carried through the reception. Tall arrangements on black stands filled the ballroom, while black-rim charger plates, framed table numbers, glass terrariums, and soft candlelight added layers to each guest table.

One detail we especially loved was the head table.

Instead of a large floral backdrop, a lush garland stretched across the front, paired with floating candles that reflected softly across the stage. It framed the space beautifully while letting the venue’s historic architecture remain part of the view.

As the evening unfolded, the ballroom settled into a different rhythm. The candlelight became more noticeable, dinner gave way to dancing, and the room felt even more inviting. It’s always fun seeing a space evolve as the celebration unfolds.

That’s one of the reasons we love decorating at The Eglinton Grand. The venue already has so much personality, and every wedding brings a new way to experience it.
