With Lake Ontario right outside, huge glass windows, and a clean, modern interior, the venue already has a pretty amazing backdrop. The design is simple enough to let couples take it in their own direction, whether that means going all in on florals or keeping things sleek and understated.
We’ve been designing weddings since 2017, and spaces like Spencer’s are always fun to work with. Instead of trying to change the venue completely, we focus on the details that make it feel personal — the florals, tablescapes, ceremony setup, and all the little touches that make the space feel like you.
Getting Married at Spencer’s at the Waterfront
A Spencer’s at the Waterfront wedding comes with one major advantage: the view is already doing a lot of the work.
Located along Lake Ontario in Burlington, the venue sits in Spencer Smith Park, surrounded by greenery with the waterfront just beyond it. During the day, the floor-to-ceiling windows bring in tons of natural light. As the day goes on, the lake and sky create a completely different backdrop for the reception.
The Observatory is a standout spot for ceremonies, especially if you want the waterfront to be part of the moment without going fully outdoors. It gives you that open, airy feeling while keeping everyone comfortable.
For the reception, the main space features 30-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and a minimalist interior. That leaves plenty of room to play with your design. Think statement florals, candlelit tables, a bold color palette, or something much more minimal, the space can go in a lot of directions.
During the room flip, guests can hang out in the Solarium, or head outside to the patio and pool area for cocktails and some fresh air. It gives the day a nice flow instead of having everyone stay in one room from the ceremony to dinner.
Another bonus? Couples can bring in their own vendors, giving them more freedom to build a wedding that actually feels like theirs.
