Michael and Bryan’s wedding at The Symes brought together sharp lines, natural tones, and a layout built for flow. Held in the venue’s Scarlet Room, the day was filled with clean visuals and bold details. VintageBASH was brought on to style the ceremony and reception, with a focus on impactful florals and seamless transitions.

Venue Overview: The Symes – Scarlet Room, Toronto, ON
With exposed brick, concrete floors, and high ceilings, the Scarlet Room offered a blank canvas that let the design stand on its own. The layout made it easy to move from ceremony to cocktail hour without resetting the entire space, which worked well for a couple looking to keep things efficient and well-paced.
Our Styling Approach
VintageBASH handled the full decor setup, including:
- Ceremony arch layered with ivory blooms and deep green foliage
- Aisle florals later transitioned into reception centerpieces using Floral Centrepieces and Bud Vase Centrepieces
- Tabletop styling with matte ceramic vases, glass candle holders
The key was cohesion. Nothing felt too polished — every piece matched the overall tone while staying functional.

Design Details
The palette leaned on neutrals with depth: off-white, forest green, stone grey, and dark taupe. Materials included clear glass, matte ceramics, and raw greenery. Florals were shaped with intention, avoiding symmetry in favor of movement.
Key design zones:
- A grounded arch shaped with layers of roses and seasonal foliage
- Guest tables with clean linen, monochrome menus, and groupings of mixed-height florals
- Minimal lounge decor styled to blend with the rest of the setup
